Many who begin the “Hippie Mom” journey are overwhelmed with what NOT to do and what NOT to eat.
My motto in this journey is focus on what you CAN do and what you CAN eat… Too many times we narrow our sites on all the yummy and taste-bud exploding foods we have grown accustomed too. If you’re here, well you now know those foods are the root cause of many diseases and illnesses and there is a better way of living.
You’ve chosen a new way of life. Hug yourself. It’s truly a life altering decision…. but it can take time and trial to learn what works for you and your family. When in doubt, just follow your gut and listen within. That voice is ALWAYS right.
The realization drives us to we must eat to live not live to eat. We must nourish our bodies with REAL food, not processed and packaged food-like products.
The most common comments I receive from many moms who are beginning their path are:
- It’s too expensive to eat real, organic, non-GMO food.
- It’s too time-consuming to prepare real food
- I don’t even know where to start
So taking baby steps, for some, is the best way to make changes in your life and for your (and your family’s) health.
The following article is a great start to begin your journey. It guides us on how to shop for and eat real food.
Real food. When people talk about eating real food, that brings many connotations to mind. Oftentimes people think of high-end stores filled with exotic sounding foods that cost a week’s pay or local farmers’ markets with bushels of fresh-grown produce. When I work with clients on transitioning to a real-food lifestyle, there are many considerations to be had. Availability of foods is a major one; budget is another. It would be nice to say “Eat organic all of the time!” That is neither realistic nor practical for a majority of the people. So what then? I am going to show you how to navigate everyday stores and get healthy options that fit within your budget.
Eating real food is an evolution and we must seek knowledge and implement change to create and cultivate real health and wellness.
