Introducing this week’s Hippily Oil, Melaleuca! Commonly known as Tea Tree oil, this earthly gift is made from the leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia native to Australia and New Zealand.
Fun Fact: It is believed that Tea Tree Oil got the name from the infamous Captain Cook! In place of tea, he used an infusion from the Melaleuca Alternifolia shrub.
It’s antiseptic qualities provide many useful benefits. This oil promotes purity and has cleansing and antiseptic qualities.
Topical Application (Apply neat to area of concern):

Diffuse or Inhale directly for:
Colds and coughs
Hippie Tip: Experiencing a cough or cold, put a couple drops into a warm bath and inhale deeply to help congestion and inflammation.

DIY Toothpaste Recipe:
6 tbsp of organic melted coconut oil (coconut oil becomes liquid at 76 degrees F)
3-4 tbsp of baking soda
1 tbsp of bentonite clay (optional)
6 drops of tea tree oil (organic and therapeutic grade)
6 drops of peppermint oil
Mix all ingredients into an airtight and glass jar. Whip until completely mixed! Need the paste a little sweeter? Use an amount of Stevia to your liking! Easy and simple. Boom.
