This smoothie is Ryland and Ryder approved. I should actually get a medal for creating such a thing.
Loaded with antioxidants, healthy fats, and well just good ole’ ingredients, this smoothie can be created quickly and is ideal for your morning breakfast or later afternoon snack.
Let’s do this!
Berry Cherry (Antioxidant- Rich) Smoothie Recipe
1 cup frozen organic strawberries, raspberries, and/or cherries
1/2 large bananas (frozen)
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp cup chia seeds or hemp seeds (or both!)
2 tbsp nut butter (I love cashew and almond)
2 cups nut or coconut milk (I love pumpkin, hemp and almond). **
1 handful of fresh greens – spinach, kale, or both!
2 tbsp lacuma powder (LOVE this stuff and also optional) Read about this super nutritious Peruvian fruit here!
**Coconut milk is great too! My favorite brand of canned coconut cream is from Trader Joe’s. Use half the can and add another nut milk for the rest of the called for amount. 🙂
Directions (Pay attention this can get complicated) 🙂
Step 1: Add all ingredients to blender, Vitamix (my favorite contraption on earth), Ninja, or any other blending device you have. Blend well until fully mixed (about 1 – 2 minutes). BOOM!
Step 2: Enjoy the fruits (pun intended) of your labor.
- More hemp or chia seeds
- Cacao nibs
- Freshly ground flaxseeds
- Diced fresh strawberries
- Homemade granola (check out my sprouted granola recipe here)
Making smoothies is a great way to consume nutrient dense foods that are easily metabolized!
