During one of my detox resets one of the members posted this recipe! Who doesn’t love yummy crackers to eat with hummus or guacamole? I asked her kindly if I could share here. So here you go!
Seeded Crackers (By Joy)
So…. you can play around with the seeds and flour in this recipe and add seasonings/spices you like.
Preheat the oven to 390 (odd I know)
1/2 c. Sunflower seeds
1/2 c. Pumpkin seeds
1/2 c. Sesame seeds
1/2 c. Flax seeds
1/2 c. Instant oats (*gluten free/sprouted oats)
2 tsp. Salt
1 and 3/4 c. Whole wheat flour (*cassava flour)
1 tsp. Baking POWDER
(I added a bash of turmeric and cumin powder to my last batch and they were super tasty)
In a separate bowl mix
1/2 c. Olive oil
1 c. Water
Combine everything together.
Might need to add a bit of water if too dry or flour if too wet. The mixture just needs to be combined enough to roll out.
You’ll need about 4 sheets of parchment paper
Lay 1/3 of the mixture on a sheet of parchment paper and roll it out. (I find it easier to sandwich the dough between two sheets of parchment so it doesn’t stick.
Make one big rectangle as thin as you like your crackers to be. (Thinker take less time to bake).
Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut out the crackers. Strips are nice or squares.
A spatula is easiest to place them on a lined baking sheet. ( you can also add a bit of maldon salt on top before baking)
Bake for 15 min. Adding 3 minutes at a time to get them to where you want them to be in color and crispness.
You just need to make these once and you’ll get the hang of it…and never want to buy store bought seed crackers again (in my opinion of course😉)
Have you made seeded crackers before? Are you going to give these a go? Please comment!
